The Keystone State

Thirteen days and two-thousand miles later, I'm back in The Keystone State.  My hair is drying from a shower once again cut short from a lackluster hot water heater.  Best Western and Star Island never gave me this problem but they don't provide me with a cat sleeping on my legs either.  You have to take the good with the bad as they say.

There's so much to write about but I'll begin by listing what we did each day and cover each day in more detail in my own good time.

Saturday , 2/11 - Drove until South Carolina
Sunday, 2/12 - Drove until Florida, went food shopping
Monday, 2/13 - Explored the Resort, went to Downtown Disney
Tuesday, 2/14 -  Universal (Harry Potter!)
Wednesday, 2/15 - Finished making fancy invitations for my Nana's party
Thursday, 2/16 - Swam in the pool
Friday, 2/17 - Zipline, Met Sarah
Saturday, 2/18 - Swam in Pool, Mini Golf at Fantasia Gardens
Sunday, 2/19 - Drove until North Carolina
Monday, 2/20 - Drove until Pennsylvania

Another way to break down the trip is to say what days we watched what:

2/12 - IT
2/13 - Ru Paul's Drag Race
2/13 - Hoop Dreams
2/15-16 - Greenberg

And yet another way to remember the trip, is to note which days with kicked ass at which social event:
2/15 - Karaoke
2/16 - Quizzo (1st place twice!)
2/17 - Karaoke (back by popular demand!)

Of course, coming back is bittersweet.  Good to be back and a part of the norm but now I have to work and stuff.  And now my cat is biting me.  Stop that!

The Sunshine State

Today was the first full day in Florida.  First thing Jason and I did?  Play in the arcade.

The condo we are inhabiting for the next six days, is several steps up from our usual place of residence.  This isn't saying much, but it needs to be said.

We are staying at Star Island Resort. When you first check-in, you are in the registration building.  In this building, there is a front desk and also a fitness center, celebrity spa, and the arcade I mentioned.  On the roof of this main building, there is an open lounge-type area where there are social events like karaoke, bingo, quizzo, and pizza and movie night.  If you wander from the registration building, and head towards our building, you will pass a pool, followed by another pool, then hot tub.  Then you walk past an area covered in sand, beach chairs, and a pair of moon bounces for kids.  Next, there are tennis courts on your left and right.  And then, there is a lake which has all these awesome birds!  In the bushes by our building, and I imagine in all the bushes and trees, there are tons of anole lizards though it seems everyone calls them geckos.

Our room is very snazzy.  It's got two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two kitchens, a balcony, and four TVs.  When we got here, Jason's mom got us a bunch of food from Publix.  It was really nice of her.  I'm not sure if I'm more excited to go see Harry Potter* or stuff my face.  I'm not excited to go to the arcade again.  There are more broken games than working ones.  But Jason and I will probably go again.  I want to get 100 tickets from Deal or No Deal.

*I've been referring to going to Universal as "going to see Harry Potter" for a few weeks now.  It confuses people.  I'm just so excited!  When I first heard about it, I didn't think I'd be able to go for years.  Two years later, I get to go.  Two years though...it doesn't feel like that long ago when I first heard about Harry Potter coming to Universal.  Or does it feel like so much longer?
